Zelda updates
We will post blogs, anecdotes, photos and other stuff about Zelda here until she can take over herself. OK, with a better understanding of how this webpage works, ACTUALLY we’ll try to put STATIC info on this page. Like milestones etc.

So since I’m starting to blog Z’s life and she is already 19 months old, I’ll give some general info for those of you who haven’t seen her for a while. She’s about 25%ile for height, and below the charts for head size and weight. Yep petite pinhead Z, our little love is (imagine a Cockney type cackle if you will). She is a little more than 18 pounds now…Any bets as to whether she’ll pass 20 pounds before or after her 2nd birthday?
She walks, and “talks” a LOT, she knows a lot of words, I tried to count a couple of weeks ago and got to 65 before starting in on animals or foods. Maybe 100? I don’t know. I will note that her words are not understandable to everyone and there are Z versions, for example “Ho-pokey” is “Hokey Pokey” and “Goleau goleau” is “De l’eau” for water. Maybe with a little onomonopaeia for “glug glug” drinking sounds thrown in. Another cute one is “Peekachoo” for “Peekaboo” which of course makes me think of Pikachu and is ridiculously cute. She has a special talent for 3 syllable words. For example, she has been saying hippocampe (seahorse for you non Franco-phones) since I don’t know December?
She can run, walk backwards and forwards and is starting to develop her upper body strength with climbing, but only just really, she’s much more leg oriented - dancing, kicking..She cannot yet jump. But it’s funny to watch her attempts.
Z sings a lot, making up little tunes, but more often than not sing-songing to the tune of Mozart’s variation that is the ABC song, Baa-baa black sheep, Twinkle twinkle (Niku niku), Ah vous dirai-je Maman, etc. Or singing Guitar Hero songs. nuff said.
She eats pretty well with a spoon and fork although fingers are still pretty popular. Favorite foods include frozen banana pieces (Cold ba-na-na, pees? Cold ba-na-na? with solemn nodding), chocolat, steak, salmon roe, tune sashimi, broccoli, corn, peas, yogurt and yogurt smoothies. ANYTHING really cold (sorvet, ice cream, other frozen fruit pieces), and olives. Most unusual thing she’s ever gone nute for was some delicious trips appetizer we ate at Al di La in Brooklyn. It was good, but she REALLY loved it, ate WAY more than any of the 4 adulta at dinner. (Testify Adam and Elina!)
Loves water, “swimming” and the bath and the big news there is that she now is great at blowing bubbles and beginning to dare to put her head underwater - uh oh. Trouble begins now!
Loves drawing with crayons or antyhing really and as of last week she LOVES playdough. Cannot get enough of playing with it. Will play for an hour and then want to play with it more later in the day. not all alone the whole time, of course, but pretty absorbing stuff playdough!
enough for now. MamanShana
